Glock will anounce next week a new 45. It is called the Glock 21 SF (special forces) ambi mag button (it's on both sides) and a contoured back strap. It is rounded and has a differnt angle, more like the "O" frame. The grip is very similar to the Glock 22 as far as reach from the back strap to the trigger. It takes the same mags as the regular one G21.

Three are made as of today. They will be shipping in 6 to 8 weeks.

You heard it here first!

I screwed up. The G21 SF has a ambi mag button. works from both sides.

I got that confused with the new "air force" model it has a external safety near the trigger. I can talked about that one though.

The air fioce is the only branch that is getting the JSP. Yes, cHooch it is still being order by that one branch.

I can't publish a picture till they offically announce the product. I will then post a picture.

I like ambi mag releases as I prefer to use my trigger finger.

So there coming out with two new guns? I heard about the ambi-mag release and safety, but I thought it was going to be one gun. I also heard that they weren't going to replace the current gen. frame, but were going to be sold only to military/law enforcement or something like that. Have you heard anything similar, or are these going to be available to the general public?

Greg,

Is the contoured backstrap going to be anything like the Walther P99? The grip on those is the most natural, comfortable grip I've ever felt.

Farnham wrote an article about the G21SF (or SF45 as he called it) in this month's Soldier of Fortune magazine.

There was a tease on the cover of last month's edition, but the info was nowhere to be found. Information embargo at the last minute??

They made some last minute changes and the press release was put on hold. The JSP for the Air Force is a differnt model from the G21SF, It may not be offered to the public. The G21SF must be approved by DOJ 12/31/06 to be sold in 2007. It will not made the 2007 requirements.

The back strap is close to a 1911 or XD.

They also have deleted the Glock exclusive light rail, it is now a standard picatinny rail.

Typical for Glock! When they came out with the 37, the original information released on it was totally different from the finished product. Jeez Gaston, can't your engineers finish a product before you get us all excited with false info?

I thought Glocks already had standard rails. I know the USP has a proprietary rail.

Glock and HK have their own rails.
