In early July I ordered a Concealco IWB holster for my S&W 4013, knowing that the turnaround time was 8-12 weeks. It's 10 weeks now, so I decided to give a call and check on things.

Andrew, the holster maker, answered and updated me. Still a few weeks out. Then, we chatted. About CCW. He knew of Mike Carona and his improved CCW policies, though being from Idaho it is a world of difference. We talked about Smiths. We talked about Cali, and Idaho, and traffic, and friends we had in both states. We just talked for maybe fifteen minutes.

I don't know what this has to do with anything, other than it's nice to deal with a craftsman who is just a good guy.

We you deal with somebody in business, it is always nice to stop and chitty chat. The industry as a whole is a very friendly industry.

I got to the SHOT show every year to conduct business and visit with friends.

I've talked with him too (got a Conceaco for my SP101), and I agree with you. Nice guy, very easy to talk to.

HBE Specialty Leatherworks is exactly the same way, and about 1/2 the price of buying commercially, but a longer wait time.

From HBE Spec Leatherworks FAQ

5) Can I get a holster faster than the standard production time?

Yes, but there is a 'put me in the front of the line" fee. This is dependent on how fast you want it. Contact me for this incredibly high price.

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are!

When you discuss a business (good or bad) I would love it if you included a link to their website if there is one, that way I don't have to waste the extra step googling (and in some cases) hoping its the right business.

Not to pit one holster maker against others, but I have had the same experience with J.B. the General Manager of Comp-Tac. Twice now, I have had lengthy conversations with him that were less about the order I was placing and more about ccw, society, etc. He had a lot of questions about California and I was able to tell him about this forum and all that is going on here.

Oh...and I only had to wait 3 days for my order.

Hello all. Lou Alessi has always been very accommodating with me. Always polite and fantastic customer service. Lightning Arms Sports also has excellent customer service. They have fast delivery times and reasonable prices. They usually have in stock anything you will want.
